Life outside
the terminal.
I build software for a living, but I'd rather not spend every conversation talking about software. Here are a few other things that make me, well, me.
North London
is red.
Supporting Arsenal is a long-term relationship. There are highs, lows, and absolutely no refunds.
There are brilliant days and days when I wonder why I let a football match determine my mood. But that's what being invested looks like. There's always another match, another debate, and another reason to believe.
It's not about the result alone. It's the anticipation, the rituals and the conversations afterwards.

I'd rather
go somewhere.
An unfamiliar city, a sandy beach, a restaurant down a side street. That's a good day.
I love a sunny coast, but I also love getting lost in a new place, finding interesting architecture and discovering the details that make it different.
I've returned to Tenerife more than once. That tells you something. But the real pleasure is seeing somewhere for the first time.
Have you
eaten?
The best memory from a trip might not be a landmark. It might be lunch.
For me, good food is part of discovering a place. A street-side breakfast can be as memorable as a carefully planned dinner.
Where you sit, who you're with and the conversations around the table are part of the experience.

One
more rep.
Some problems can't be solved by restarting the server.
Training gives me a completely different kind of focus. I like lifting weights, working on getting stronger and keeping a routine.
After hours behind a keyboard, the gym is a good reminder that there's a physical world out there.
Curiosity doesn't
clock off.
I can get interested in a game idea and suddenly an entire evening has disappeared.
That curiosity is why I build small games, explore places, follow Arsenal and ask too many questions. It turns out the same instinct that makes me enjoy engineering also makes life interesting.
